~ Portobello Road: June Mighty Market ~

Have you seen the classic movie Bedknobs and Broomsticks? It stars Angela Landsbury {playing an apprentice witch}, takes place in London in the 40s, and is a kooky adventure from start to finish. At one point, Angela heads to the famed Portobello Road to search for an ancient manuscript of spells, and gets wrapped up in the mystery, zeal and history that is one of the most famous vintage markets of all time.

What might you be up to tomorrow evening from 4-7pm?

I'll be set up at Portland's own little make-shift Portobello road, Sabi & Friends Vintage, hocking my scarfen wares, nibbling on appetizers, and gabbing with guests both inside and on the sidewalk. And who knows, there may even be dancing.

You're invited... {flier by Caitlin}

~ Match Made In Heaven: You're Invited ~

Sabi & Friends Vintage? Meet Mighty Market. I'm sure you two will hit it off just famously.

Hope you can make it...

PS- thanks to Kelty for shaping my needlework into a respectable invitation. Wish you could be there, too. xoxo

~ Pop-up Shoppe: Number Four ~

Shola was sure missed at this month's market at Caitlin's, but fortunately for everyone who attended, a few fantastic new vendors joined the mix in her absence. Colleen brought beautiful blown glass jewelry {I nabbed a little something for KeltyJoanna had lovely photographs and cards for sale, and Alex sold kick-ass thriller books.

The night also featured vintage threads and new crafts by Emily {I plan to wear my hair flower everywhere} and spring-time dresses by Caitlin {I think I'll finally break and get that cupcake skirt next time}... And then there was the guest of honor, Clyde {can you guess who it is from the photos below?}

Hope to see you next month...

~ Pop-up Shoppe: Number Three ~

It really was more of a Mighty Market than a Pop-Up Shoppe this month {Colleen, was that your moniker?}, surfacing at HasBeen Design, a tiny t-shirt printing shop on Portland's east side. Owned and run by Seth and Huy (the gent below draped in OLA), Couchstock 2011 materialized for friends and fans to bid adieu, as the biz will be moving storefronts in the next few weeks.

Vintage threads, handmade dresses, screen-printed tees, crafty musical mixes and OLA scarves adorned the front of the shop, welcoming guests as they came in. Live music played, beer was embibed, goodies were bought, and a lovely time was had by all. Already looking forward to visiting HasBeen's new shop, which I'm sure will be equally cozy, colorful and unique.

Visit Shola, Caitlin and Emily's blogs to hear more about the evening...

Speaking of bidding adieu, I doubt I'm the only one who will be missing Howie (the handsomely awkward, intelligent and lovable man you see above and below) when he moves to far off lands tomorrow. Save travels, friend {and for serious, stop that smoking nonesense!}
